CHURCH PICNIC

Get ready for some great food, fun and fellowship!  We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our church picnic.  Join us immediately following worship on Sunday, October 2.   RAIN OR SHINE.  Bring your family and friends, a dish to share and get ready for some fun. 

There is a sign-up sheet on the Fellowship Hall bulletin board to indicate if you are bringing a side dish, salad or dessert to the picnic.   This helps give an idea of how much food will be available.  The church will provide paper goods, hot dogs, and bottled water.   There will also be a CAKE WALK and Michael Kurland will be running games. We can’t wait to see you there!

There will be no Fellowship Hour, Children’s Choir and Sunday School Classes on Sunday, October 2, so that families can enjoy the picnic after worship.

SCHOOL KITS - God’s Work. Our Hands.

One of the projects for “God's Work. Our Hands” on Sunday, September 11, is the completion of 100 school kits.  Please consider taking advantage of the back-to-school sales and purchasing some of the items needed for the kits. Donation boxes are on the stage in the Fellowship Hall.  Thank you for your donations for these much-needed school kits which are sent throughout the world where they are most needed.

·         70 sheet spiral notebooks
·         30- centimeter rulers or rulers with both inches and centimeters
·         pencil sharpeners
·         blunt tipped scissors
·         Unsharpened #2 pencils
·         black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel pens)
·         boxes of 16 or 24 count crayons
·         erasers - 2 1/2 inch

Note:  We especially need the 70 sheet spiral notebooks. They are 35 cents at Staples and Walmart.

"God's Work. Our Hands."

GOD’S WORK. OUR HANDS. will be Sunday, September 11, 2022.  The following projects have been chosen:

·   Assemble 100 school kits for Lutheran World Relief.  LWR sends these kits throughout
the world where most needed to help children continue their education.
·   Do clean up and maintenance at the Spring Grove cemetery and some painting will be done also.
·   Recognize/Honor the members/volunteers of the Spring Grove Fire Company with
$10 gift cards from local businesses along with thank you notes.  If you would like to
donate a $10 gift card from one of the local businesses listed below, please donate it by
September 8. You may drop off gift cards in the church office. Local businesses: Genova’s,
Jim & Nena’s, Subway, Papertown Dairy Bar, Ray’s, Rutters, Kennie’s, and Brother’s Pizza.
·  Bag diapers and feminine hygiene products for Little Food Pantry.

Please mark your calendars for this day of service doing God’s work for our community and beyond.  We will begin work following the 9:00 am church service.  We look forward to working together to share God’s love.   

BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS

School starts back in just over 2 weeks!

Join us on Sunday, 8/21, for a blessing of the backpacks to kick-of the academic year. Students, teachers, and professionals will be invited to bring their bags and receive a blessing during our
9:00 am worship service.

All students will receive a free backpack tag to put on their backpacks!
