“As therefore you received Jesus Christ the Lord, so live in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2.7)
As Pastor of St. Paul Church I welcome you to our website. Our hope for St. Paul is for it to grow as a community of faith, rooted in Christ as received through the historic faith of the Church, continually discerning God’s will for today, open to new challenges in ministry and witness to Christ in this area. We pray God to bless this church, that we may be a blessing to others in this community and in more distant places.
The other pages of this website will give you a picture of St. Paul Church and our ministry in the Name of Jesus here. If you are in the Spring Grove area, please visit us. May the Lord bless and be with you.
The Reverend Jack Craft is an experienced Interim Pastor who has served as our part time Interim since January 1, 2017. Following 18 years of service from our friend and mentor Pastor Dan Biles, Jack is guiding our congregation in taking stock of our work and worship, our life together, our role in the community and God’s call to us, for beginning a new season of ministry under the leadership of a new Pastor. He is enjoying this new opportunity to become acquainted with and invested in the congregation of St. Paul. He especially enjoys getting to know the people and singing our Lutheran liturgy.
Pastor Jack was ordained at Chestnut Grove Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in Phoenix Maryland in 1988. He pastored a small church in Holly Michigan for 16 years, and has served 8 churches in South Central Pennsylvania, as Interim Pastor, since 2004. St. Paul Spring Grove is the second Lutheran congregation he has served in our Synod.
He received his Bachelor’s degree from Loyola College in Baltimore MD in 1984 and his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1987.
Jack lives in York PA, where his wife Betsy Craft is a psychotherapist and the founder of the Center for Creative Arts and Play Therapy. He has two children, Eliana 17, and Jeremiah 18. He makes a mean Ethiopian Berbere and some crazy Moroccan Beef. If you like your food mild, you should definitely stay away from his kitchen.
He is pictured here with his wife, Betsy, who is actually only 9 years younger. No, really!
