In 1999, we helped a refugee family from Bosnia begin a new and better life in America. We helped them get a home, find a job, learn English, and assisted with other aspects of their transition to life in our country. We look to help other refugee families in the future.
We provide financial support to help rebuild the Lutheran Church in Russia after its years of persecution under communism. We oversee the collection of funds from all over the USA to help Lutheran churches in the Russian Far East. Pr. Biles taught classes at the Lutheran Seminary in St. Petersburg for many years since it opened in 1997. St. Paul coordinates the USA Appeal for Lutheran Churches in the Russian Far East. This appeal sends over money to support the revival of the Lutheran Church in the Russian Far East. For more information on this growing ministry, go to www.luthvostok.com and choose the “English” version.
This school helps train pastors for the Lutheran Church in Tanzania. It is part of the Konde Diocese in Tanzania, which has an official relationship with our Lower Susquehanna Synod.
Mexico Mission Trips
We have supported Constructores Para Christo, an organization that combines a spiritual retreat with building homes for the poor in Mexico. In 2002 and 2003, 24 of our members went on a mission trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico to support this organization and build a home for a family. We did a trip every year for ten years. Since 2013, we have done mission trips in the United States, doing hurricane relief work or work with Habitat for Humanity.
